ITT – 70% of Vietnamese students who want to study abroad have been refused applying for a visa to study in the US on the first interview, which has caused many parents worry and do not know how to handle it.
Greg Renkin, Head of Student Visa – Travel & Business, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, said “First of all, you must be a qualified student. And then you always have to tell the truth. We are looking for different aspects of an individual to understand the applicant.”
The first factor in evaluating a student is time. When applying for a visa to study in the US, people usually look at you in three aspects: Money? Intending to complete the program? Did you return home after finished the course? You must answer these questions satisfactorily.
For those who want to change their previous visa results, just go back to the interview when new information is added and answer differs from the previous one.
Mr. Renkin, said “There are no limits for visa applications. US visa for all qualified people. Having a family member in the United States is a normal, no help or harm to the applicant. So tell the truth about this”.
It is important for parents to be well prepared before thinking about Applying for a visa to study in the US: developing their children’s natural aptitudes, interests and passions, changing their thinking and behavior… Parents should respect the independence of children, reduce the imposition or to force their children.
