How about situation of learning IGCSE in Vietnam?

ITT – Every year, Vietnam has more than 100,000 students who have been studying abroad. This figure shown the trend of studying abroad was increasingly popular in Vietnam. At the same time, demands of learning international program certifications, including IGCSE has been increasing. The situation of learning IGCSE in Vietnam has strong movement.

IGCSE for students from 14 to 16 years old during the first two years of high school. Students who enrolled in this program must complete some subjects are English, Mathematics, strengthen Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Completing IGCSE course, students can confidently participate to pre-university programs such as A-level, IB, AP…

IGCSE required great efforts of learners by outside knowledge, students must have a good level of English proficiency, writing and oral skills in English. However, foreign language and these skills are weak points of Vietnamese students because of passivity, fear of speaking, asking, and not confidence when communicating. As a certificate which is increasingly popular, the situation of learning IGCSE in Vietnam is very attractive although it’s still quite new. However, because of its new, teaching staff for this course is also very limited. The teachers who are fluent in both speciality and foreign language can take this responsibility. In addition, teachers are required to have experience in order to understand the common difficulties of Vietnamese students as well as students know what method is appropriate to Vietnamese people.

In general, the situation of learning IGCSE in Vietnam is hampered by language barriers, education and the process of finding teachers. However, parents should still invest in their children’s education right now because there is no limit  which can insurmountable if making efforts. Dreams of studying abroad of Vietnamese students will not be too far when they have achieved IGCSE.
