What is A-level certificate?

ITT – IB is an International Baccalaureate accepted by almost schools in the world for high school graduates to learn higher levels as college or university overseas. AP is an educational certificate of high school students in advanced level than general international standard. Thus, what is A-level certificate?

A-level is a valuable certificate which is highly accepted by England university system. Moreover, this certificate is one of the prerequisites for admission in famous colleges in England. It can be said that IB is an international standard certificate. In the contrast, A-level is dedicated to young people who want to learn in one of the most advanced education in the world – England. Thus, what is A-level certificate?

A-level program offers the equivalent knowledge of grade 11 and 12 in Vietnam, and sciences subjects like Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics… and social subjects such as Literature, History, Geography… A-level program lasts 2 years. In the first year, students will learn AS-level program – the first half of A-level program. In the second year, students will continue to learn A2 – level and complete curriculum. A-level scores are combined 2 years.

Mention to the program and A-level exam, A-level score is based on experimental exercises and exam papers of 2 years (AS and A2). To qualify for admission, UK universities require students to pass 3 subjects of A-level exam. However, to be sure, you should check entrance requirements of school you want to learn to get the exact information. Exam paper is provided by main examination board – Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and scored from A* (highest) to E.

For students learning at international program from beginning days, they will be learned subjects in IB or A-level course early. As students learning standard curriculum given by Ministry of Education and Training in Vietnam, before attending A-level course, they need to get familiar with IGCSE program from the end of secondary school and beginning of high school (grade 8,9,10) to guarantee knowledge as well as quality of major language according to international system before learning and taking A-level exam.
