ITT – The AP program is not as widespread as IB whereas the depth of the industry or its re-education programs is well targeted. Depending on the organization and the choice of different courses that offer different subjects, including AP English Language and Literature.
This subject includes skills such as analysis, argument and commentary on famous literary works from many countries around the world. Students will be exposed to many major literatures throughout history, learning from Shakespeare and Virginia Woolf to modern literature, requiring students to study the texts which are relevant to the political, culture, history contexts in different time periods. With a limited amount of time, the amount of knowledge that teachers transfer is quite little and most students do not master the information they need to write the essay. Therefore, Literature tutoring center or tutors is an extremely important choice if you are planning to study this subject in advanced.
However, finding an AP English Language and Literature tutor is not easy because of many requirements. The teacher must have experience in teaching and in-depth knowledge of the fields of literature such as history, psychology… Because teachers give accurate and detail information to students this is the basic supplementary knowledge. In addition to the compulsory curriculum, teachers have to analyze literary works through well-known novels, from which to analyze writing, and author’s personality.
Therefore, the first requirement is good English proficiency, whether Vietnamese or natives. The top priority is the knowledge, qualifications and experience. It is better to find experienced teachers who teaching international school students. In order to ensure the teacher quality, some professional teaching certificates are required to show that they are capable of imparting knowledge and are well-trained in teaching.
