Where to take ACT preparation courses?

ITT – Since the change of SAT test format in March 2016 which is quite similar with recent ACT test, many students start to take ACT test and want to know where to take ACT preparation courses.

ACT is important if you want to gain scholarship or admission in schools in the US. Just like SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), ACT (American College Test) is a standardized test for college admission in the SAT. While SAT is popular in Vietnam, many students still find it quite new with ACT.

ACT assessment assumes that naturally, each individual has different intellectual capacity. Therefore, ACT tests do not intend to assess the intelligent level or intellectual capacity of students but focus on evaluating what students have and what have they learned from schools. The test content also “sticks” with the study programs. Therefore, students who are diligent and hard-working tend to prefer ACT more.

Not like SAT, there is not much tips for ACT tests. The pressure on time is huge, especially in Science, Reading and English part. In the sciences part, it is quite new for Vietnamese students since it does not assess the scientific knowledge but the reasoning, charts and tables reading skills along with the academic vocabulary they have. The difficulty level of the questions in ACT is unpredictable, not to mention the fact that the number of ACT test samples and related materials is small comparing to SAT. These factors have made it hard for students to prepare for ACT test by themselves.

Therefore, if you want to study at prestigious universities of the US, besides self-learning at home, you should go to professional tutoring centers so that you can acquire enough necessary knowledge, have more related materials and have unanswered questions answered  by experienced people. However, where to take ACT preparation courses is not an easy question.

In reality, the number of centers offering ACT preparation courses is not big since this test has just become popular recently. In order to have a good place for ACT preparation, you need to ensure that the place have a professional training environment and experienced teachers who can help you enhance your test taking speed, provide from easy to difficult exercises and point out parts that can be scored easily in the test. Only by doing that, you can be more confident and success in your learning career and achieve your dream.
