ITT – Beside IB and A-level, AP is one of an important “entrance ticket” to increase your chance to apply for scholarships in overseas schools and universities. However, are there any methods to effectively study the subjects of AP, especially AP Chemistry when the “deadline” is near?
Set a study goal
First of all, you need a general understanding about the program in order to be well prepared. In the 14 main topics of AP Chemistry syllabus, knowledge ranges from general to the most specific contents to set a background for studying in Universities.
Chemistry in AP program includes familiar concepts to Vietnamese students such as balancing chemical equation, substances, acid, base, atom, chemical bonds, pH concentration, volume, etc. If you study the full program, you will go through a lot of experiments in laboratory. These experiences are important for solving and answering tasks in the examination; therefore, you should not skip these knowledge just because the time is short.
To rapidly absorb knowledge in this time, students must memorize Chemistry terms in English to understand the materials. Remember not to skip assignments that based on experiments because they will teach you analyzing and reasoning skills which are very important in this program.

For those who are new to AP and international program, self-study will be tough and time-consuming. Even students who are studying AP Chemistry will also find it difficult to prepare for AP Chemistry when there are only 5 or 6 months before the examination.
