Chemistry is categorized as an applicable scientific subject; therefore, studying Chemistry is important in many countries. However, the subject is seemed as boring by students as there are a lot of formulas, chemical elements, chemical reactions, etc. to learn by heart. For many students, Chemistry is a nightmare since they cannot memorize the periodic table of elements.

In an international program like A-level Chemistry course, the syllabus will be organized from simple chapter such as introduction to elements to more complicated topics. With such syllabus, students can have a look on topics and easily figure out their knowledge gaps to work on them. However, beside knowledge on the subject, understanding technical vocabularies is also essential to catch up with Chemistry which is in English only.

To avoid knowledge gaps in A-level Chemistry, students should notice these following tips:

  • Read textbook and self-study the periodic table of elements to gather information about elements.
  • Be pro-active, finish as many assignments in class as possible to help you remember the lesson longer.
  • Practice balancing chemical equations at home.
  • Studying in group is effective and helpful. The members can discuss in English to improve communication skill and vocabularies.

Finally, don’t give up on Chemistry too soon. If those methods above are not helpful for you, a Chemistry tutoring center or an enthusiasm and experienced A-level Chemistry tutor will inspire you to conquer this subject.
