ITT – With over 2,000 students, California Institute of Technology (USA) topped the list. Top 10 best universities in the world also have representative of Korea and Luxembourg.
According to the small-scale school rankings of THE 2018, California Institute of Technology – Caltech (USA). Institutions with more than 2,000 students also ranked third in the world university ranking list.
Caltech offers a range of science and technology programs taught by renowned professors and scholars and modern facilities with high standard laboratories. Alumni of the school have won many awards, including 34 Nobel prizes.
In addition to Caltech, US has two representatives in top 10 best universities in the world are Clark University (ranked No. 7) and University of Alaska Fairbanks (ranked No. 10).
France has two schools ranked by THE. Of these, École Polytechnique is second only to Caltech. This university has 2,799 students from more than 60 countries, which is highly valued thanks to a low student faculty ratio and regular updates to new academic fields. The remaining representatives are École Normale Supérieure de Lyon in fifth place.
Italy also has two representatives, including Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (third) and Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (ninth). These two schools have common characteristics that are very strong in terms of language ability.
Asia has one of top 10 best universities in the world, Ulsan National Institute for Science and Technology (UNIST) (Korea), ranked sixth. Founded in 2009, the school now has 4,046 students enrolled and taught fully in English.
The other two are University of Luxembourg (ranked fourth) and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (ranked eighth).
While many prospective students prefer to study at large institutions of higher education with bustling campus, others are attracted by the quality and experience that some colleges have on a small scale.
