ITT – “Poor students will get a free one-year study at Cambridge University”, Professor Toope, an associate professor at Cambridge, said.
According to Professor Stephen Toope, Cambridge University has detail plan for students after the announcement earlier this week.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4 Today, Professor Toope said Cambridge cannot be an “excellent university” unless it opens the door to all the talents from around the world.
“The new campaign will be completely free”, he said. Initially, this opportunity will be a big break-out for students to study for free at Cambridge, because they will not ask them to pay back any money.
“We are working with philanthropists to raise funds for this campaign so that we can reach more people who can benefit from the program.
We would like to give students the opportunity to overcome difficulties, to work with a number of scholars in the field, to ensure that if finally accepted into Cambridge, these people will actually be ready for the primary program learning.”
This message was given after Cambridge and Oxford was criticized for not letting black students in recent.
Share with BBC, the deputy said, he cannot guarantee that all free students will be admitted to Cambridge University but he added: “However, I think we will be brave that that the following campaign will be able to learn at a top school.”
