ITT – Many difficult mountainous provinces such as Dien Bien, Quang Nam, Dak Lak…, the number of high school students studying with online learning method is only about 70% due to the lack of Internet, students have to learn by themselves.
The deployment of teaching via the Internet, on television, meeting the Ministry of Education and Training’s goal of “suspending school, not stopping school” is a temporary solution in the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic. However, with the online learning method, the university level has been approached but with high school level, this is a new job, so it also encountered many difficulties.
Many villages do not have Internet
At the conference, Mr. Cu Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of Dien Bien Department of Education and Training, said that so far, about 73% of high school students have learned from distance, via the Internet, on television or delivered exercises directly. This is a great effort, because Dien Bien is a mountainous province with 40% of poor households, many villages in difficult areas do not have Internet, telephone reception.
In order to deploy distance learning, Dien Bien education sector has conducted a review for each student to understand their access to learning, in cases where students cannot learn via the Internet or television, schools will work closely with parents to deliver content, distribute learning cards directly to the children.
Only 70% of high school students have advantages to study online
The province has many difficult areas, but at this time 100% of schools in Quang Nam province have implemented an online learning method. However, according to Mr. Ha Thanh Quoc, Director of Quang Nam Department of Education and Training, depending on the region, the online learning is effective differently. In favorable areas, the average number of students participating in online learning is over 80%.
The director of the Quang Nam Department of Education and Training said that the effectiveness of online learning is due to the school, teachers, parents and students. Still know it is difficult, but if looking at difficulties, commenting that teaching online is not effective is not fair.
