ITT – Korea is often regarded as “the Asian tiger” which ceaselessly subjects itself to changes in the modern world. Korean songs and movies have become popular to people from all over the world. Therefore, the need for knowing Korean has been increased in many Asian countries, namely Vietnam.
Traditional features such as Kimchi, Taekwondo, K-pop, Hallyu… make Korea phenomenal. In the world of globalized education, Vietnam and Korea have a comprehensively strategic partnership, which brings more opportunities for improved teaching and studying the Korean culture. As a result, more teenagers are studying Korean for their own interests.
Statistically, there are 78 million Korean speakers in the world. The Korean alphabet was invented in 1443 under the reign of King Sejong the Great, and was named the Hangul alphabet. Its syllabic structure is more similar to that of the Latin alphabet than that of the hieroglyphical Chinese or the mono-syllabic Japanese. Korean has a featured intonation. Although there is no tone mark, Korean timbre can be easily distinguished. Therefore, Korean is not too obcure to beginners if they acquaint themselves with the Hangul alphabet.
Knowing Korean, people can choose Korea to study abroad, exchange culture or work for Korean firms and enterprises which will be able to dominate the most potential market in Asia if they have a huge Korean fluent manpower. The bilateral partnership will then be promoted and thrive.
