GMAT exam structure

ITT – Around the world, there are currently about 6.000 post graduate programs using GMAT as an obligatory admission criterion. But what is the GMAT exam structure?

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is an exam for those who want to pursue a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Business Management (MBA). The test lasts for 3 hours and 30 minutes, consists of 4 sections: Analytical Writing, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal that you get in the process of learning and working. What are the main sections of the GMAT exam structure?

  1. Analytical Writing

Content: Analysis of an Argument.

Duration: 30 minutes.

Maximum score: 6 points.

  1. Integrated Reasoning

Content: Graphics Interpretation, Table Analysis, Multi-source Reasoning, Two-part Analysis.

Number of questions: 12.

Duration: 30 minutes.

Maximum score: 8 points.

  1. Quantitative

Content: Data Sufficiency, Problem Solving.

Number of questions: 37.

Duration: 75 minutes.

Maximum score: 60 points.

  1. Verbal

Content: Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, Sentence Correction.

Number of questions: 41.

Duration: 75 minutes.

Maximum score: 60 points.

  • Exam fee: 250 USD.
  • Request for report card fee: 28 USD.
  • Exam exchange fee: 50 USD.
  • Validity period: 5 years.

Some notes you need to keep in mind:

  • Computers are not allowed to use, calculations must be done manually, so training ability to calculate mental math is extremely important.
  • Wrist watches can be confiscated during the test.
  • GMAT is not only a knowledge test, but also a stamina challenge, so familiarize yourself with looking at your computer screen and thinking hard for nearly 4 hours continuously.

In Vietnam, there are 2 GMAT Test Centers located in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi:

  • VNPRO News Center, 149/1D Ung Van Khiem Street, Ward 25, Binh Thanh District, HCMC.
  • IPMAC International Testing Center, 6th floor, Kim Anh Building, 78 Duy Tan, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
