ITT – In order to study well in Biology, many students have come to integrated Biology teaching center to gain more knowledge and skills.
Current status of learning
At present, Biology in Vietnam is still theoretical, lacking practical elements. Thus, integrated program was designed to be implemented in parallel with the curriculum of MOET to bring more practical activities to help students apply knowledge in practice. Therefore, finding an integrated Biology teaching center is a great concern for parents and students.
The difficulty that parents and students face is integrated program in Vietnam is not completed. Textbook has not been officially announced. That is why many centers are very confused and do not know how to guide students to follow which syllabuses because the international program has many different types, depending on the purpose of the students. Not to mention that very few or no teacher has experienced this, so experience is almost nonexistent.
What is about studying integrated Biology?
Integrated Biology teaching is the way to integrate the necessary content into academic subject, aiming at the direction of teaching to help students develop the ability to mobilize, combine knowledge, skills in many different fields to effectively solve problems in learning and life.
Bilingual education is a good way, in accordance with the development of the country, bringing practical benefits, help students improve their English, improve knowledge, having contact with specialized terms which facilitates the absorption of the world’s knowledge through reading or studying.
In terms of interdisciplinary integration, the plus point is to increase the effectiveness of education and save time for learners. But its inadequacies are that standard textbooks have not been officially issued yet, and are still in the pilot phase so the benefits to students are not yet clear.
