ITT – In natural science subjects, English for Mathematics is the most important and usually focused on by students. Furthermore, in the entrance exams of the top-notch Universities in the U.S and Canada, AP Math plays an important role to evaluate candidates. But how can students catch up with all the topics of this program when the final examination is too close?
About AP Math
Although AP diploma is not very popular in the U.S; however, it is the key to be approved by some top Universities in this country. While IB program lasts for 2 years, AP only requires 6 months to finish; however, the amount of knowledge of two programs is equal. This is the part where AP program, especially AP Math have become a “nightmare” for almost students.
Moreover, for candidates who have never studied international curriculum or programs such as IB, A-level or have at least intermediate level of English, AP diploma is probably impossible. Beside technical knowledge, AP examinations require technical Math vocabulary to be solved.
Race against time
The heaviest pressure is limited time. Thus, before applying for any Universities that require AP diploma, you have to make sure that your background knowledge is firm. In this “urgent” time, all candidate can do are just solving as many tasks as they can to improve skills so as not to waste too much time in the real exam. Saving time for the most difficult tasks is a good strategy to optimize your score.
If you are still worrying about the best way to prepare, you can choose the safest way: instead of trying to absorb all topics of Math in AP program, make sure you have well understood each part first. For example, if you are already good at algebra, try to optimize your score on this aspect. After that, pay attention to the most basic steps to solve a geometry problem and understand as much as you can.
