How to score ACT test?

ITT – ACT is emerging as a smart choice for assessing students’ abilities as well as general knowledge. If you are going to study the ACT then you will want to refer to how to score ACT test?

ACT exam consists of 4 parts: English, Math, Reading and Science. Each section is scored on a scale of 1 – 36. How to score ACT test?

Similar to IELTS, the final ACT score will be the average of all 4 parts, then rounded to the nearest integer.

Each section will have a difference in the number of questions as well as 36-point scale. In ACT, English part contains 75 multiple choice questions, Math section has a total of 60 questions, Reading section includes 40 questions, Science section consists of 40 questions in the form of data analysis, research summary, and counterpoint.

In addition to 4 skills required, ACT candidates can select Essay section (optional). Essay will be scored by the two judges marking you on a scale from 1 to 6, from which the score is added from 2 to 12. The essay score will be the total of marking point and additional point therefore the highest score you could received in Essay section is 36 points. Subsequently, ACT will combine Writing score with English and Reading sections, and then divide the average.

So, does the essay score affect the official ACT score? The answer is no. The official ACT score is the average score of four compulsory sections. The results of the essay will provide an assessment of writing skills, without altering ACT results.
