Time and place of the exam
How does AP exam happen? AP exams start in May each year and usually last 2 weeks. In July, students will begin to receive results.
Depending on the subject that candidates apply for, the exam structure will be different. Usually, a test lasts 3 and a half hours and consists of two parts: Multiple-choice and Essay. These two sections contribute 50% to the final total score.

However, due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, the exam format and time will be subject to many changes:
- The online exam takes 45 minutes at home and students can open up while working. However, points will not be calculated for answers with the exact same content as the teaching material.
- Students can use computers, phones, and tablets to take the test. In addition, students can also handwrite, take pictures, and send by phone.
- To avoid exposing the exam questions, the same content tests will be held in a fixed time and apply to all AP exam locations around the world, from May 11 to May 22. For students in California, this test will take place at 09:00, 11:00, and 13:00 depending on the subject. Make-up exams will be held from June 1-5, depending on the subject.
