The differences between IB and AP

ITT – International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) are two international curricula providing special benefits, but there are many differences between IB and AP.

Nowadays, the number of IB and AP teaching school is gradually rising in Vietnam. Most of the students are advised to attend both of these curricula, even though there are some differences between IB and AP.

AP course tends to concentrate on a particular subject, while IB course has a comprehensive approach. In the AP class, students would take an in-depth consideration – from a variety of different aspects about an issue. In IB class, students can spend hours to consider an issue as well as the way that this issue affects to other aspects.

IB learning students can get the IB certification which is recognized by global universities. If students do not desire to commit to credit programs, they can choose IB courses as they want, which is similar to AP courses.

Based the differences between IB and AP on the score of IB or AP, students can get the college credit. Most of the admission officer give a favorable look for students who choose AP or IB classes. However, the students have to register the IB class to receive IB test, while the others can get the AP test without registering classes relating to AP.
