Why are science subjects in English difficult?

ITT – The curriculum at high schools is increasingly reformed towards integrated teaching and learning. The integrated program brings students closer to the knowledge base of the world. But to learn science subjects in English is not easy for Vietnamese students as well as teachers. So why are science subjects in English difficult?

According to the general level, the English level of Vietnamese students is average. However, when you want to learn science subjects in English, it requires students to have a basic knowledge of English grammar, not to mention the number of specialized vocabulary and terms of the subjects that students must have. This is an important reason why students find these subjects so difficult to learn.

To be able to convey scientific knowledge in English to students also requires teachers to be fluent in English and specialize in science pedagogy. However, the number of teachers who fully meet the standards is still very limited. There are many teachers who are very good at teaching science subjects but lack English skills and vice versa. In addition, the class time is quite small, but the knowledge is extremely large, making it impossible for students to absorb everything in class. As a result, learning science subjects in English becomes even more difficult for students.

But we all know the benefits of these subjects for the students themselves and the education of the country. So it was necessary to find a way to make learning easier. Tutoring at the center is a good way for students to improve their learning, assimilate scientific and effective teaching and learning methods, making learning no longer difficult to swallow. However, students and parents should carefully research the courses at each specific center to choose the right course to avoid the case of choosing the wrong basic English course.
